Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, said: “It’s not particularly surprising that he won, but it’s profoundly worrying on what’s being reported about him not grasping the consequences of a no-deal Brexit with things like the NHS health care, and the wider impact.
“We know as London Mayor he doesn’t do good deals from the water cannon to the Garden Bridge. It’s worrying we have someone with such a poor track record.
“There is no mandate to take us out on a no-deal Brexit, that wasn’t put to what we voted in 2016. So we should go back to either have a second referendum or another general election.”
