Gareth Thomas MP and Rooks Heath College will host the Careers Fair on Monday 17th June from 4-7PM.

The Careers Fair will be the only event in Harrow’s calendar where local state schools have the opportunity to engage with over 20 companies and institutions, from the British Film Institute and Heathrow, to the NHS and the Met Police, to a CV and cover letter workshop from Google.

Following three successful University Fairs with Whitmore High School, Harrow students and parents will now have an opportunity to meet representatives from a range of companies in one location. Hundreds of pupils from schools and colleges are expected to attend the event, which will play host to representatives from over 25 businesses and companies from across the country.

Local MP Gareth Thomas said:

All the fee-paying schools in Harrow and across the UK have their own careers fairs organised internally, but there has been a vacuum for careers fairs being organised for local state schools and I really wanted to help even out the playing field.

The organisations taking part represent different careers from many different industries. The stall format will allow those in attendance to approach any stall that interests them and have personal one-to-one conversations about that career, industry and the journey people take to achieve those career goals.

Dr Reavley, Headteacher of Rooks Heath College said:

“This is an exciting event for Harrow pupils, with representatives from over 20 different careers from across the country. All students and parents from across the borough are welcome to attend.”
