From the first of November Alexandra Avenue centre will not be accepting walk-ins any more.

The local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has announced it will reduce the number of patients at the Alexandra Clinic from 40,000 to 20,000.

This is truly shocking; residents should have the right to see a doctor when they are ill. Given the scandalous crisis we have seen in Northwick Park Hospital A&E, we should be taking the pressure off of hospitals not forcing more to go there, or the medical centre in Pinner which is not being restricted for residents, whoever made this decision, without any consultation with local residents should be ashamed.

These cuts are indicative of the real crisis in primary care after eight years of grinding Conservative Government austerity across the NHS – the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) faces a shortfall of £50 million and restrictions being placed on our local health care.  It is about time that the health care for Harrow residents was properly funded.

Despite the changes coming into place, I will continue to fight these restrictions on our Health Service. Help me to fight these changes by emailing the Alex Ave campaign team providing them with permission to write to the Health Secretary on your behalf.
