Gareth Thomas MP From Harrow, For Harrow

We, the undersigned, write on behalf of concerned residents and local traders in North Harrow regarding the persistent safety issues at the intersection of Station Road and Pinner Road – a junction first highlighted in 2021 as a “death trap” following the tragic death of a cyclist.
Despite repeated collisions, a signed petition, and ongoing community concern, little progress has been made in addressing the dangers posed by this junction. It has now been over three years since this issue was brought to public attention, yet the situation remains unresolved.
We understand after our initial campaign, Krupesh Hirani AM, raised this at the London Assembly, and funding was allocated to Harrow Council for improvements. However, residents have yet to see any meaningful action.
Pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike continue to navigate this dangerous junction with trepidation. Collissions are becoming more frequent, and frustration is growing over the council’s failure to act.
How many more incidents must occur before action is taken?
We urge the council to prioritise public safety and provide a prompt response detailing the plan for action, including:
- A confirmed timeline for the project’s implementation
- What improvements will be made to make this junction safer
- Clear communication with the community on next steps
We call on the council to act now before another preventable tragedy occurs.
